This Week in U.S. Marshals History
  A Revolution Brings the Marshals to the Border...on November 20, 1910, Francisco Madero launched a fight against Mexico President Porfirio Diaz. The long-running unrest in Northern Mexico compelled the U.S. Marshals to protect the long southwestern border.

Marshal Faces Resistance in Reconstruction...on November 21, 1876, when U.S. Marshal Robert Baker of the Northern District of Alabama reported to the Attorney General that his deputies were indicted in the state courts “when no law has been violated.” Deputies continued its early fight for civil rights in the South despite opposition.

Capture of 15 Most Wanted Fugitive

Johnny Mack Brown (Captured)November 15, 2008 - Uniformed officers from the Lavonia Police Department captured U.S. Marshals '15 Most Wanted' fugitive, Johnny Mack Brown.  Brown, who escaped Oct. 13 from Hays State Prison in Trion, GA, was added to the Marshals' Most Wanted list on Halloween night.  Read More
